Enhancing Women's Political Participation In Northwest Nigeria, Kaduna State.
The project is a targeted initiative aimed at increasing the representation, visibility, and influence of women in political processes within Northwest Nigeria. Implemented by Gender Awareness Trust (GAT) with support from the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES), the project empowers women to engage meaningfully in governance and leadership at both local and state levels.

Stigma Reduction and Economic Empowerment for Women and Girl Survivors of Gender-Based Violence in Kaduna State, Nigeria
With support from AmplifyChange, GAT addressed the dual challenges of stigma and economic vulnerability experienced by women and girl survivors of gender-based violence (GBV) in Kaduna State.
Grounded in a survivor-centered approach, the initiative worked to reduce the social stigma that often silences survivors, while also providing them with economic skills and opportunities to rebuild their lives.

Break The Silence, Access Justice Campaign Dec 2021- VAPP Law Collection
In December 2021, GAT with support from UN Women, implemented the Break the Silence, Access Justice campaign across Kaduna State. The campaign focused on increasing awareness and enforcement of the Violence Against Persons Prohibition (VAPP) Law.
As part of the initiative, GAT led a coordinated effort to collect and document cases under the VAPP Law, highlighting gaps in reporting and access to justice for survivors of gender-based violence. The campaign also aimed to sensitize communities, engage stakeholders, and advocate for stronger institutional response mechanisms.

Women Expanding the civic Space and Responding to GBV in the North West Zone, Nigeria
This project was funded by OSIWA from May 2023- April 2024 and it empowered women leaders, activists, and community-based organizations to engage meaningfully in governance, advocacy, and accountability processes. Simultaneously, it builds local capacity to prevent, identify, and respond to GBV through awareness campaigns, survivor-centered services, and stakeholder engagement.

Barriers to women and girls accessing Sexual Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) services and commodities
Pathfinder International carried out a project that explored the barriers women and girls faced in accessing Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) services and commodities. The initiative focused on identifying socio-cultural, economic, and systemic challenges that limited access to vital reproductive health information and care.

Promoting Dialogue within Communities for Security & Safety of Schools in Nigeria
The project was implemented in Borno, Bauchi, and Kaduna States by the United Nations Democracy Fund (UNDEF) in partnership with Women and Adolescents Resource Development Centre (WARD C).
The project aimed to strengthen community engagement and foster inclusive dialogue among stakeholders to address threats to school safety, particularly in conflict-affected and vulnerable areas. Through community forums, capacity-building sessions, and advocacy, the project contributed to building trust, reducing violence, and promoting a culture of peace around schools.
